Abstract

Profiles of Kennebunkport residents who help define the town. Jestena Broughton grew up in the seaside Colony Hotel, which she now runs with an ecological sensitivity. Marathoner Brian McGrath, 68, and his wife, triathlete Debbie McGrath, 56, pedal their for-hire D&B Pedicabs about town. Tom Bradbury, director of the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust since 1978, has built a nationally renowned local land trust. Heidi Dalton is a long-time waitress at the Lobster Claw, where President George H.W. and First Lady Barbara Bush sometimes eat. Kennebunkport chief of police Joe Bruni has worked presidential details since just before the senior Bush became vice president. The innovative pastor Sherwood Treadwell came out of retirement to revive the Church on the Cape.
