Abstract

Profile of Andres Verzosa, 47, owner of Aucocisco Galleries, one of the most critically acclaimed and successful contemporary art galleries in Maine. He is at the forefront of community building in Portland's art scene, helping to create the First Friday Art Walk, which catalyzed the art scene and even the opening of new restaurants. He is the administrator of the Bernard Langlais estate, cares passionately about the artists he represents, and mentors emerging artists. He represents Maine painter Dozier Bell, who says that "a dealer who's also a true ally is a rare find."
