Abstract

Profile of Todd Watts and Jemma Gascoine, artists who moved to the tiny village of Blanchard (population 98). Watts, a photographer from New York City, and Gascoine, a ceramicist from London, came to Blanchard because of the legendary photographer Berenice Abbott, who lived in Blanchard and for whom Watts worked for many years, printing her photographs. The article provides biographical details on the artists and discusses their involvement in the central Maine art scene.
