Abstract

“What’s in a Picture” piece about a photograph of Mrs. Toy Len Goon, a Chinese-born woman who raised eight children and ran a laundry shop in Portland, who was selected as the American Mother of the Year in 1952. Although she had no formal education of her own, her children went on to become very successful in various fields of endeavor.
