Abstract

Based in a basement on Cousins Island, Gary King broadcasts the “American Musical Heritage,” which comprises early American jazz, at 88.3 FM WYAR. It is estimated to capture 3-5 percent of the Portland radio market and is listened to primarily by millennials, their grandparents, or great grandparent’s generation. While its tower is unable to transmit very far, the station hopes to have online stream-live soon. [image]
