Abstract

When the author and her husband decided to adopt a child who had cerebral palsy from Uganda, they needed $15,000 in which to pay the expenses. They held a fundraiser on March 11, 2005, in which the state experienced a heavy snowstorm which was later declared a federal disaster, While fearing the efforts to fund raise would be in vain, the turnout that night was exceptional.
