Abstract
The article addresses Maine's land conservation status and activity. In the 1980s there were just a handful of land conservation groups in Maine, but today there are more than 80 local and regional land trusts, notable the Land for Maine's Future program. While individuals and organizations have done much to set aside land for conservation, the challenges and concerns regarding land trusts from various stakeholders is presented.
