Abstract

Tornadoes were spotted across Maine in Bridgton, Denmark, Otisfield and Sebago Lake setting a single-day tornado record. An episode of Jay Leno's Garage was filmed in Portland. A black bear chased Kenyan runner Morinda Marube while training in the woods of Auburn. State liquor commissioners decide not to ban the sale of nips after liquor bottler, Sazerac Company threatens to abandon plans to create 31 jobs in Lewiston. City officials in Presque Isle and Amish community leaders work to find a solution to horse refuse left in town. Dennis Meehan, a medical marijuana dispenser gifted a gram of marijuana to litter collectors in Gardiner. BeeMapper is now used at the University of Maine blueberry research farm in Jonesboro to track and plan for bee populations.
