Abstract

The University of Saskatchewan professor and first Mi'kmaw woman to achieve a doctorate degree, who has been honored for her work decolonizing education and preserving indigenous languages and knowledge, reflects on what Nickerson Lake means to her. She grew up near Houlton and learned to swim in Nickerson Lake.
