Abstract
In a decade of existence, the Island Fellows program at the Island Institute has contributed much to overextended island community members and resulted in 10 Island Fellows becoming island residents. Four Island Fellows, Alden Robinson on Long Island; Scott Sell on Frenchboro; Morgan Witham on Isle au Haut; and Siobhan Ryan on Swan's Island, write of their experiences. The program was designed to provide an extra 40 to 80 man-hours a week that islanders otherwise couldn't afford.
