Abstract

Finances have been at the center of consideration for sports arena options in Portland's Bayside neighborhood. Cumberland County Civic Center manager Steve Crane says either renovation or a new arena will have the greatest economic impact of any state project, although Convention and Visitors Bureau director Barbara Whitten says convention center renovations, long overdue, will have greater impact.
