Abstract

David Dudley won his lawsuit against Hannaford Bros. which refused to sell him alcohol because his disability made him appear to be intoxication. Hannaford has appealed, and has already won the approval of the Maine Human Rights Commission. Lawyers say the ruling puts an unfair burden on cashiers, and trade groups representing 2,000 Maine businesses filed a brief on behalf of Hannaford. Details.
