Abstract

"Perspectives" piece in which John Anton, president of Northern New England Housing Investment Fund replies to Steven Scharf's letter, ["Portland needs to give housing a chance," Aug. 28], agreeing with Scharf that Portland needs to do more to address the housing shortage, but rebuking Scharf for being overly critical of City Councilor Karen Garety, who, in Anton's opinion, has played "a pivotal role . . . in shifting the city's housing policies and programs toward the production of new apartment units."
