Abstract

This month, in response to disappointing revenues, Portland-based Idealswork is launching Idealswork Financial, a subscription-based Web service and software package for professional investors who offer their clients socially responsible investments. The software can accommodate an array of client value profiles, from progressive feminist to religious conservative. CEO Sam Pierce launched Idealswork two years ago as a website that ranked consumer goods by socially responsible criteria. He hopes to sign up enough customers to pull the company back from the brink.
