Abstract

"Business Maine piece on the numerous residential and commercial projects currently underway across the state. The proposals include 100 subsidized and market-rate apartments in Portland's Bayside neighborhood, developed by Gorham-based Avesta Housing Development Corp.; a 222-unit anti-sprawl neighborhood in Scarborough planned by developer Kerry Anderson; the Grand Victorian condo and retail complex proposed by Tim Swenson in Old Orchard Beach; the Scarborough Gallery proposal by Boston-based developer Great Island Acquisitions LLC, which would include a Wal-Mart and a Lowe's; Mass.-based SR Weiner & Associates Inc.'s plans for a retail center in Farmington; and plans by Mass.-based Atlantic Development for a new shopping center near the Topsham Fair Mall.
