Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece on Home Runners, a new service that provides inebriated clients with a ride home in their own car. Daniel Furst of Scarborough, 34, began operating the company to provide an alternative to paying for a cab to bring you home, then another one to take you back to your car in the morning. The company uses a pair of drivers, one to drive the customer home and the other to bring the driver back. Home Runners charges $15 for runs within Portland, and up to $25 for trips to outlying areas.
