Abstract

"Focus: Western Maine" piece on the Franklin County DirigoChoice Incentive Program, a new program that will refund small businesses 20 percent of premium costs this year for DirigoChoice health insurance, and 10 percent next year. Launched by the Franklin Community Health Network and the Greater Franklin Development Council, the program aims to have 1,200 new individuals covered under the DirigoChoice plan by the end of the year. Ken Sparkes of Sparkes Hearing Services believes offering health insurance will help him avoid the expenses associated with employee retention and recruitment.
