Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece on former Maine assistant attorney general and former Central Maine Power CEO, David Flanagan, 58, who was chosen by Gov. John Baldacci to be the first-ever economic development envoy to Washington County. The position was created after a proposed racino in that county was voted down. Flanagan says any development ideas should take advantage of the tourism potential of the area. Washington County gets about 1.5 percent of tourist visits to Maine, compared to neighboring Hancock County, which gets 24 percent.
