Abstract

According to President J. Mark Koshliek, the move of Nissen Bakery from Portland to Biddeford was not a result of financial troubles but, to the contrary, of the need to expand. No sites in Portland offered the transportation access and 15 acres of space Nissen needed. In addtion, the out-of-state demand for Nissen products means that moving every ten miles south saves the company $100,000 a year. Details.
