Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on the $1.5 million supplemental budget being requested by Leigh Saufley, chief justice of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. The money would go to create a new business and consumer court. With additional funds, the courts would add four new judges, with support staff, to ease the current caseload. Gov. John Baldacci says the request must be weighed against other budget considerations.
