Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on the National Flood Insurance Program, noting that Mainers covered by the program will face a long wait because claims from last year's hurricanes in the southern part of the country have bankrupted the program by billions of dollars. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Rep. Tom Allen, D-Maine, both said Congress should consider reform efforts this year, with hurricane forecasters predicting a long season of storms.
