Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on the $468 billion federal defense bill that includes several provisions important to Maine. In addition, two separate appropriations bills in the Senate and House would affect Maine differently, especially shipbuilding at Bath Iron Works. General Dynamics' Saco Defense facility is expected to receive contracts totaling $17.9 million for its work on automatic weapons systems when the final Senate bill is approved.
