Abstract

"By the Numbers" piece on Maine's highest-paid nonprofit professionals, excluding health-care professionals, ranked by total annual compensation in 2004. They are in order from the highest paid: Richard Woychik, director; Charles Hewett, COO; James Osterholt, VP of advancement and external relations; and Lee Wilbur, CFO--all of the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor; Owen Wells, president of Libra Foundation in Portland; William Torrey, senior VP of planning and administration at Bowdoin College in Brunswick; Barry Mills, president of Bowdoin College; Elaine Hansen, president of Bates College in Lewiston; William Adams, president of Colby College in Waterville; Sandra Featherman, president of the University of New England in Biddeford; Victoria Devlin, VP of advancement at Bates College; and Paula Volent, VP of investments at Bowdoin College.
