Abstract

"Business Maine: Northern" piece reporting that the cleanup of the former HoltraChem site in Orrington is back in court following a recent appeal by the plant's former owner of a 2002 court decision that requires the company to pay for an environmental study of the Penobscot River. Mallinckrodt Inc., the only former owner of HoltraChem still in existence, is in he middle of an extensive cleanup process to remove mercury from the site. But the company has opposed paying for an environmental study of mercury contamination downstream.
