Abstract

"Business Maine: Midcoast & Downeast" piece reporting that Creative Apparel, a garment maker owned by the Passamoquoddy Indian tribe, has laid off about 100 employees in its six manufacturing locations, including Eastport. The company makes clothing that is resistant to biological contamination and designed for military personnel. George Rybarczyk, company president, said the military contracts upon which the company depends have been slow in coming.
