Abstract

"Focus: Midcoast Region" piece on Camden-based Penobscot Bay Media, which was accepted into a $5 billion federal contracting program last year. Ann Yahner, president of Penobscot Bay Media, said acceptance into the program will allow her company to bid on major federal projects. Of the 44 firms that qualified, all are owned by Navy or military veterans who became disable during service. Pen Bay Media, as the company is called, specializes in film and video, Web development, mapping and robotics. Like other tech firms in the midcoast, Pen Bay Media has funding challenges, as well as difficulty finding enough qualified workers. Details.
