Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on comments by Public Utilities Commission Chair Kurt Adams that some business owners are deciding against locating in Maine because of limited broadband access. Verizon's plans to sell its northern New England assets gives it no incentive to invest in broadband expansion for Maine. Maine's ConnectME Authority is trying to provide incentives for companies to bring wider broadband access to the largely rural state.
