Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece with a profile of Paul McFarland, 63, general manager of O'Hara Corp. of Rockland, a company that has diversified from processing fish as Maine's fishing industry declined. Today the company owns a marina and half a shipyard, deals lobster bait and ice, and is involved in the scallop business and running factory trawlers. Recently McFarland encouraged co-owner Frank O'Hara Jr. to buy Mitchell Cove boats, based on Mount Desert Island. O'Hara Corp. recently finished its first model, a lobster boat.
