Abstract

"Focus: Marketing" piece on guerrilla marketing techniques, noting that more Maine companies are using alternative marketing to stand out from the crowd. Glenn Angell, owner of Angell Armor Coating in Portland, recently worked with Ateso Marketing to throw a tailgate party for potential clients for Angell's truck-bed liners. Yana Farrally-Plourde, president and creative director for Ateso Marketing, leads one of only a handful of Portland firms embracing alternative forms of marketing. Carol Meerschaert, marketing director of lobster company Catch of Piece of Maine in Portland, believes alternative marketing can help reach an audience in a cluttered advertising landscape, and also save money over traditional techniques.
