Abstract

"From the Ground Up" piece on how the tightening of credit and the slump in the real estate market is affecting commercial real estate in Maine. Today, buyers have to rely on high-interest financing, and large deals are suffering. Banks will more readily finance smaller deals, albeit with more stringent conditions. The effect is lower cash-on-cash yields for many projects.
