Abstract

"Focus on Lewiston-Auburn" piece on Lewiston's Bates Mill No. 5, the only part of the Bates complex that hasn't been rehabbed by the city and Lewiston Mill Redevelopment Corp. A lone developer responded to the city's nationwide query and now councilors are pondering the fate of the 365,000-square-foot building. In an interview, Tom Peters, chairman of the Lewiston City Council, talks about the all-new city council and its enthusiasm for developing an art community and art attractions in the building that would draw visitors to the city.
