Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece with a profile of Ike Levine, who was awarded a Fulbright fellowship to pursue development of algae as biofuel, which he hopes to use as the foundation for an industry in Maine. He teaches in the University of Southern Maine's Department of Natural and Applied Sciences. He will work at the University of Delhi in India with a world authority on algae. A grant proposal he submitted to the Maine Technology Institute, for which he had $500,000 in matching contributions, wasn't funded.
