Abstract

"Focus on Building & Real Estate" piece on how the economic slump is encouraging some Old Port businesses to look elsewhere for cheaper rents. Nine Old Port stores closed from October through January, triple the usual number, and since then, others have announced closings. Other retailers are taking advantage of lower rents and unprecedented vacancies to move into the Old Port.
