Abstract

Developers, real estate professionals, and supporters of historic preservation are thrilled that the Legislature extended Maine's historic preservation tax credit program for 10 more years. Supporters of the credit say that it encourages development and helps create jobs. The program will cost the state millions but local governments will increase property tax revenue and Maine will benefit from increased employment and economic activity. With details about several projects certified through the program.
