Abstract

Maine's second annual TEDxDirigo conference, organized by Adam Burk, will move to a larger venue in Portland with a larger budget and an increased attendance from 100 people in 2010 to nearly 300 this year. An application process generates a diverse group of attendees who will listen to speakers who have received free public speaking coaching to improve their presentations. The presentations will be professionally filmed in hopes of getting on the main TED website which can help spread a local message to a global audience.
