Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on the Government Oversight Committee's decision to launch a study of Maine's Office of Information Technology, prompted by concerns from lawmakers and other agencies about its expense and management. Created in 2005, OIT was established to efficiently and cost-effectively centralize IT purchases and system maintenance across agencies. But critics say that some of the systems OIT has put in place are confusing, frustrating, and unhelpful.
