Abstract

Executives from Maine's regional chambers of commerce evaluate Gov. Paul LePage's accomplishments to date. John Porter of Bangor region chamber, Chris Hall of Portland regional chamber, Dana Connors of Maine state chamber, and Chip Morrison of Androscoggin chamber praise the governor's pro-business stance and his focus on fiscal matters, but express some unease about policy directions, including the governor's handling of bond issues. They also discuss LePage's outspokenness and differ in their opinions as to whether his views hurt Maine's ability to recruit businesses from away.
