Abstract

“Focus Midcoast Region” piece that features an interview with Reade Brower, the publisher who bought the assets of the defunct VillageSoup, an online news platform, and revived several weekly newspapers in central and coastal Maine. Brower initiated an online paywall and is working on improvements to the platform in order to add new clients. He has also had success with the print weeklies, increasing circulation by 20% and adding reporters. With a timeline briefly outlining the history of VillageSoup and the Village NetMedia weekly print newspapers.
