Abstract

The public-private organization, Aroostoock Parntership for Progress, is leading a grassroots effort to advance the forest products sector as a “cluster.” Clusters are organizational units that help create an understanding of a regional economy and can improve the performance of that regional economy as it encourages interested groups and local and state government to work together and think more broadly about common problems, strengths and opportunities. A text box illustrating the Northern forest product cluster is included.
