Abstract

Portland's new Mainer's, or recent immigrated citizens, have been making vital contributions to Maine's economy. Many are highly educated, but have been relegated to work that does not require advanced degrees. What the barriers are that preclude New Mainers from work that reflects their education and skills are presented, as well as how to best utilize the talents and energy New Mainers bring is discussed.
