Abstract

Focus piece that looks at a growing trend among financial firms, like Unum, Machias Savings Bank, and Maine Harvest Credit Project, to invest in digital video ads. Ad spending on TV still surpasses spending on digital media, but firms are recognizing that technology has changed the way people shop and bank, among other things, and that digital ad spending will likely continue to increase. Digital video and social media marketing target younger consumers, are less expensive that TV ads, and can be tracked in real time.
