Abstract

The Portland Room at the Portland Public Library is developing plans to create a Portland Neighborhoods Archive. Abraham Schechter, special collections librarian and archivist, said the goal of the project is to help preserve the histories of the city's distinct neighborhoods and offer access to the conserved material. The library is soliciting materials, such as photos, diaries, and maps, that tell the stories of the neighborhoods.
