Abstract
"In the Lobby" piece on the Dirigo Health Plan, commenting on the possibility of a deal to use state General Fund money to finance the plan. Joe Ditre, head of consumers for Affordable Health Care in Augusta, says this would be a taxpayer bailout of the insurance industry. With additional comments by Dana Connors, head of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce; Trish Riley, Governor Baldacci's chief health-issues aide; Tarren Bragdon of the Maine Heritage Policy Center; and Charles Lawton, senior economist for Planning Decisions.
