Abstract

"Diverse City" piece on the surprising re-election of John Jenkins as mayor of Auburn. The surprise was not that a Maine community would elect a black man for mayor, but that Jenkins won despite the fact that he did not actively seek re-election. He was elected as a write-in candidate.
