"this just in" piece about of state represenative Kevin Glynn, R-South Portland,
"this just in" piece about of state represenative Kevin Glynn, R-South Portland, who attended a two-day pre-legislative forum in Augusta in December to discuss "big ticket items' such as the budget, tax, policy, and the consequences of Sept. 11. While Glynn was pleased to participate in the bi-partisan forum, he was upset by the event's $20,000 price tag, which covered the cost of participants' gas, meals, and lodging. Participants also received a stipend and were given a Christmas party, all this at taxpayers expense. He took particular exception to the stipend paid to legislators for their attendance and to the fact that the forum was held in the Oblate House, rather in the newly refurbished House chamber. In protest, he sent a letter and a check for $100, the approximate cost of his participation, to Speaker Mike Saxl.
