Abstract

Profile of Olympic skier Bode Miller, 28, a New Hampshire native who attended Carrabassett Valley Academy where he was coached by Chip Cochrane. He is outspoken and largely self-taught, with an unorthodox style and unnerving calmness in competition. He won the World Cup overall championship and is a medal contender for five alpine events in the 2006 Olympics in Turin, Italy.
