Abstract

"House of the month" piece on 155 Western Promenade in Portland, which is on the market for $1.35 million. The brick chateau, designed in 1921 by William Bottomsley for Portland Packing Co. heir and noted genealogist, Walter G. Davis, comes across as a miniature of the Governor's Palace at Colonial Williamsburg. Only two families, the Davises and the Rideouts, have lived in the house. With details on the home's interior and its history. An ad for the home appears on page 100.
