The Maine-built ironclad monitor USS Agamenticus changed her name to "Terror" in 1869 and operated for two years between Key West and Havana. The USS Wassuc, built by George W. Lawrence and Co. of Portland, also was built for, but missed, the Civil War. With details on each ship.
