Abstract

A replica of Captain John Smith's 1606 brigantine, used to travel the New World to found Jamestown, was built in 2006 by Rockport Marine for $2 million. After her sea trials in Penobscot Bay, the modern day "Godspeed" sailed to her home base in Chesapeake Bay near the Jamestown Settlement Museum.
