Abstract

To celebrate its 29th year, in this issue of Portland Magazine, the editors have reprinted some classics from their archives, along with new graphics and updates. This article first appeared in November 1990 detailing life aboard a Soviet fish processing freighter named the Riga. A postscript explains how LeDuc earned the trust of the crew and gained access to the ship.
